Keep Safe Guide

Showing personal information

Please note that we cannot screen every profile page, and accept no responsibility for the information members show on their profile pages. If you choose to show personal details such as phone numbers, emails or web links, it is down to you to weigh up the risks associated with doing so. We would always advice that you do not put personal details on your public profile page, especially not phone numbers.

Going to auditions

Whilst we try and screen all Music Jobs & Auditions on our website, we can not thoroughly authenticate them or the legitimacy of the people who post Talent Auditions so you must do your own checks to ensure your safety. We can not be held liable for any misfortune that occurs as a result of you applying to one of the listed Music Jobs & Auditions on Audio Rokit.

Please be extra careful and use your own judgement when auditioning or meeting people in person. Never go to an audition or recording session alone. Make sure you take a friend who is over the age of 18 and inform others of the address of the audition and the time you will be finishing your audition. Try and find out as much as possible about someone before meeting them in person.

Ask if you can talk with their other clients and make sure they are legitimate and have been in business for at least one year. Type their web address and email into google and see if it turns up any message board ads that may cause concern. It can be very tempting to jump in and meet with people who you feel could help further your career, but never give out your home address to strangers, and exercise proper precaution when meeting someone for the first time.

Sending your music off

Make sure you have checked out the authenticity of who you are sending your music too. Copyright your music prior to sending it out and always write your name and number on the actual CD disk as letters tend to get separated form the disk. Don't sign anything without consulting a legal professional and if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
