How much is it to join? [top]

It is free to become a member and create your electronic press kit (EPK) page. In order to submit your music to the Music Jobs and Auditions you must be a fully subscribed member. Membership starts at £6.99/month for unlimited song submissions. Subscription to our service is charged monthly. There are no added or hidden fees and you may unsubscribe at anytime without penalty. Our credit card processing facility makes payment simple and secure. We accept most international credit cards as means of payment. If a user changes up/down plans after a payment has been made then remaining period counts as credit on a pro-rata basis towards the new plan (or next payment if they change down). If a user changes back to the free plan then that is seen as a request to cancel further payments and they will drop down to the free plan once their current period finishes.

Why do you charge for your service? [top]

We are actually cheaper than many other pitching sites. Some pitching companies will charge applicants for each submission they make and pay a portion (or all) of that submission fee to the industry professional. We don't feel this is a good system as the industry professional could in theory use the submission fees as a revenue stream and not actually be looking for new music. The system we employ ensures that all industry professionals on our site are legit and not simply listing for submission money.

To make a site like Audio Rokit work takes a great deal of time and money. The building and running costs need to be met, as well as wages so that we can have staff to find and vet the listings for our members.
Currently, all income generated goes on the running costs and further developments. It is our aim to create a service that is truly awesome and give outstanding value for money to all musicians.

When will I get feedback from the industry professionals? [top]

Once you submit a song the music company that posted the listing will receive your submission and will be able to listen to your music as well as view your profile page (EPK). After they have reviewed your music they can reply to you directly using the internal messaging system. You will receive an email saying that you have a new message.

We can now guarantee that you will have feedback within 8 weeks, usually it's a lot sooner than this. We feel that even if the music company doesn't like your song(s), you have a right to at least know! Music companies (especially the good ones) are very busy so please be patient when waiting for a reply.

How do I send my music to industry professionals? [top]

Sending your music to industry professionals is easy. First, make sure you have uploaded your best songs to your personal pitch library. Once logged in, simply look through the latest industry opportunities on the Music Jobs & Auditions page and click "Submit Your Music" on any opportunities that you like the look of. Next, tick the check box next to the song(s) that you want to attach to your submission and click send. We will do the rest!

Do I need to copyright my songs? [top]

Yes. We require that you have at least sent your song to yourself via recorded delivery, but advise that you copyright your songs through a registered copyright body. The copyright protection is your responsibility, and we recommend you read our copyright notice

How many songs can I store in my personal pitch library? [top]

On the £6.99/month package you can store up to 3 songs in your personal pitch library.
On the £14.99/month package you can store up to 10 songs in your personal pitch library.
On the £24.99/month package you can store up to 20 songs in your personal pitch library.

Can anyone list a Music Job? [top]

Yes. Both music industry and musicians can list a Music Job/Audition for free. We do not allow people to list Music Jobs and Auditions that ask our members for money or ads that promote business offers unrelated to the music industry. Click here to list a free Music Job/Audition

How do I receive new applications? [top]

Applicants submitting their music to your listing(s) will be organized for you in your Audio Rokit inbox, found within your admin area. There are no limits to the amount of people that can submit music to you, which is why it is a great tool for A&R who wish to avoid their personal email inbox getting cluttered up.

What personal information is sent? [top]

When submitting your music to a Music Job/Audition, a link to your profile page will be given to the poster of the ad. From here they can read your introduction text and any other information you have on your public Audio Rokit profile page only. You may edit your profile page information from within your admin area at anytime.

Why can't I see the contact detail for the companies I submit to? [top]

Once you are logged in you will be able to see the name of the company you are submitting music to (shown in top right hand corner blue box).

Some companies may choose to withhold this information if they prefer to receive material via Audio Rokit and not have people find them on Google. We respect the music industry companies concerns over spam.

Once you submit a song(s) to a company using our internal submission system, your music will be delivered to the company inbox and you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. After this they will have one month to review your application before their listing is paused.

I don't write music, can I submit my lyrics? [top]

Currently we don't list opportunities for lyricists. We will be introducing that feature soon and will update everyone here.

Can I re-submit my song to the same listing opportunity? [top]

Unfortunately you can not re-submit material that has already been sent off. This is something we will be changing but for now re-submissions or edits to original messages are not possible. The reason re-submitting material is not allowed is to reduce the likelihood of multiple (spam) submissions. We have been looking at this policy however and are in the process of creating a way for legitimate edits/re-uploads to be accepted.

    My songs won't play? [top]

If you can not hear your songs play or have trouble with the play button please don't worry, it is likely to be because you are running an older versions of Internet Explorer. Most modern browsers nowadays are HTML5 such as Chorme and Firefox . We are looking at a fix for this issue but as more and more people use Chorme or Firefox we can't prioritise it just yet. Why don't you upgrade to  Chorme or Firefox as they're MUCH better than IE, faster and free!

    Communicating with A&R? [top]

A&R (or anyone who posts a Music Job/Audition) will receive applicants' submissions to their Audio Rokit inbox, as well as their personal email inbox if they have chosen that option. From there, they will be able to organize and contact applicants directly via our internal song submission system. Applicants can then login and reply to any messages received.

How can I make a complaint about a posting or a member? [top]

If you feel a member is acting inappropriately, or have a complaint about any listed Music Jobs, please email help@audiorokit.co.uk

View our keep safe guide? [top]

Safety is extremely important to us, please read our keep safe guide and help keep our site a safe environment for members and ad posters.

Can I join if I am under 18? [top]

Yes, any one can join but if you are under 18 you must ask a parent or guardian to make the subscription payment needed to submit music to the industry listings. That person is then responsible for you and may apply to Music Jobs and Auditions on your behalf in the usual way. Please read our keep safe guide if you are under 18.

Did Audio Rokit contacted me? [top]

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from Audio Rokit, always ask them to email you for verification. The email should end with either @audiorokit.com or @audiorokit.co.uk

    Reporting suspicious behavior? [top]

If you suspect any suspicious behavior from a member or anyone claiming to be from Audio Rokit, please email help@audiorokit.co.uk

    Are the listings legitimate? [top]

Absolutely. We screen all listings on our website to make sure they are real opportunities from legitimate companies. If ever we found a listing to be questionable in any way we would simply remove it from our website. Furthermore, we do not allow companies to list opportunities that require 'payment for services'. The legitimacy of our listings is about the most important thing to us, if you have any questions or concerns about a listing please tell us immediately.

What is the Chorus Blast? [top]

The “Chorus Blast” feature allows industry folk to play your chorus with a single click. We spoke to lots of A&R reps and they told us they would love to be able to quickly play the chorus before playing the full song. This is a time saver tool that allows them to scan more songs quickly to find what they are looking for.

We've found that the "Chorus Blast" actual increases A&R activity. In other words, music industry tend to listen to more of a song if it has a "Chorus Blast". We thought this was so cool that we've decided all Audio Rokit members should create chorus blasts for their songs and start benefiting straight away.

    What is a chorus?

The chorus is the section in a song that has the main vocal 'hook'. If you are unsure where your chorus is, or if your song does not have a chorus, simply select the part of your song that you want to highlight (the coolest part!). After you have done this, when a music industry rep clicks on your songs chorus blast link, they'll immediately hear that section.

Your members seem amateur. I need professional music leads [top]

We allow anyone to join as a musician and some are more professional than others. However, we do not allow any old listing go up on our site, only quality music leads that meet our listing criteria are even considered. Looking at our Talent Directory will tell you nothing about our music leads since they are unrelated.

We are not into the business of judging our members because ultimately that is the job of the companies that list with us. If you have good quality music, you would surely stand out and have a much better chance of success using our pitching system. If you are interested in professional music leads, you could not find a better place than Audio Rokit. We have listings from major record labels right through to some of the worlds most exciting independent labels, publishers, music managers and more, many of which are leaders in their particular field.

    The songs won't play? [top]

This could be because you haven't downloaded Flash or your Java script may be disabled.

When I upload a song I am told I need flash player. [top]

If you have just installed the Flash plug-in you may not have restarted your browser or you have Java script disabled. Another possibility is that you have some sort of flash-blocking plug in installed.

Why are some auditions paused? [top]

    Each month we give our industry members a chance to go through their applicants. Whilst they are reviewing the submissions they already have, we pause their listing(s). This serves the following purposes;

    1. It acts as a nice reminder to busy industry professionals and gives them a chance to listen and respond to members who have submitted material to them.

    2. It alerts us to any listings that are not getting reviewed.

    3. It removes the possibility of any out-of-date listings because the poster must review ALL applicants before we push their listing live again.

If their listing is paused for a full week we will send a polite reminder advising that their listing is still paused and is waiting for review. If no action is taken we will contact the company personally on behalf of our members to see if we can be of assistance.

How much is it to join? [top]
